When the word “we” is used on this site, it is used in one of two different ways. One is a very all encompassing “we”, including everyone and anyone who attended, contributed, donated, assisted, encouraged, prayed for or in any way was a part of this event. This is a large and growing group of people and organizations.
The other “we” includes the people who organize and run the event. Although many people help, the main organizers for the Steiner Memorial Race is the Steiner Family. We are the children of Christopher E. Steiner and Lee Steiner.
Kim (Steiner) Slevin is the main driver for this event. Along with the planning and activities for this event, she keeps the rest of us on task. And if that is not enough, she is also a full time Wife, Mother, Aunt, Sister, Niece, Friend and overall nice person. To say she keeps busy is, well, an understatement. Her generosity knows no bounds and her graciousness extends beyond this race.
Mike does much of the leg work and also brings photographic skills gained on the job to capture the candid moments found in our photo gallery. He is a full time Father of the year, Brother, and proud Uncle. He spends his free time playing baseball and wrestling with his boys. His dedication and commitment to his family defines him. And his sense of humor is pretty awesome too!
Chris is the oldest of the three siblings. He is newly married and voted best Step Father of the year. Chris applies his technical skills to bring you this site, and also assists with whatever else he is told to do. He recently relocated to Atlanta, Georgia where he enjoys year round warmth and no snow to plow. It’s a good life.
There have been many changes to the Steiner Family since the first race was held in 2006. We welcomed the first grandchildren to the family, Liam and Grady. In 2013 Kim married John Slevin and added two more bundles of joy, Finn and Sean. In 2016 Chris married Donna and inherited a step daughter, Sarah.
We also suffered loss. In 2013 we lost our beloved mom, Lee Walsh Steiner to cancer. To read more about Lee, please visit Lee Walsh Steiner.
